Where will you be when the world ends?
|||||The sounds of death and firestorm||]|
The world, or at least the world as we know it, is definitely going to end via a meteorite impact. Nothing else out there is so uniquely devastating to life...especially the high-velocity ones.* We're talking kabam, boom, death.
* High-velocity meteors are an even greater threat, because kinetic energy is calculated as KE=(1/2)(m)(v^2). Note that v, velocity, is raised to the second power, while m, mass, is only the first power. Because of this, v has a much higher impact (LOL I AM SO PUNNY) on the kinetic energy of a moving object. So they smack you with a lot more oomph.
